Patio Renovation!

Patio Renovation!

I know what your thinking….. a patio renovation blog at the end of summer? Really? But let’s be honest, would I really be doing this MY way if I got things done on time? Nope. I am all about keeping it real and let’s face

Nordstrom Sale!

Nordstrom Sale!

I know this is a little late to the game BUT due to Nordstrom’s website malfunction, I still have not recieved ANY of my packages. Whomp whomp. So that made it a little more difficult to do a try on for you guys and show

Back To School Shopping!

Back To School Shopping!

That’s right guys, it’s already that time of year again! I know some people don’t go back to school until the beginning of September but in Ohio we only have four weeks until school starts back up. WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO? Hailey, my almost nine year old, starts August 15th. I don’t think she was necessarily excited about it until today when we picked up some goodies at our favorite store, Target. (Not Nordstrom for the sale like everyone else haha) We did a little try on session and she modeled everything proudly (HA!) for me. She is just obsessed with the Cat & Jack apparel and I do not blame her! I wish I had cool clothes like that when I was younger.

One of the cutest things we got this year were her overalls. Everyone who knows anything about me knows I am obsessed with overalls!!! The second I saw these, I demanded she try them on. Obviously they were out of her comfort zone but they ended up being a win! They ran long but if we sized down they wouldn’t have fit her in the waist, so we just cuffed the bottoms. Super cute!
Denim Overalls

Shortly after we realized we LOVED the shirt underneath, JUST NOT WITH THE OVERALLS. No one wants to look like a minion on their first day of school. haha.

The shirt however, describes our relationship to a TEE. (See what I did there) It’s so cute and I swear Hailey could wear a tee shirt everyday if I let her. Sometimes we need to be cute though, OKAAAAAY.
Pizza T-Shirt

FUN FACT: WE LOVE PIZZA SO MUCH! If we could eat pizza everyday (and not gain a pound) we would! The second we saw this shirt we both just looked at each other and grinned. Winner. Aside from that, I love everything mustard forever.

The next thing we saw was this super trendy, yet affordable, tunic that pairs great with black leggings! Then when it gets colder, she could even put some knee high boots with it! She LOVED this one.
Woven Tunic

She almost looked too grown up in this but at the same time, it reminded me of something I would wear. So obviously I fell in love. LIKE LOOK AT HER!

Another thing that Hailey would try to live in, is dresses. All year long this girl will find any excuse in the book to wear one. Even in the dead of winter when its below twenty degrees outside. Luckily for her, this one is good for now and later. It could be worn simply as is or paired with a cardigan, tights and booties and still be appropriate for colder weather. So naturally, we got it!
Plaid Dress

Don’t mind her face in this picture, she HATES the idea of tights. haha. Also, the colors seem a lot different in person than in the actual Target link. Keep that in mind.

I didn’t get a picture of Hailey in this next item but IT WAS SO FREAKING ADORABLE. She usually wears a 10/12 (with room to give) but in this she absolutely had to size down to a 7/8. It ran super long for whatever reason. It is however, another great staple for going back to school, into fall. I love the orange and the navy together. I can just see her wearing it with a denim jacket and some converse, to dress it down, and my heart just melts.
Zipper Jumpsuit

This next tee wasn’t just a “basic” tee shirt. Well, thats how she pitched it to me anyway. haha. It has the subtle tie at the bottom so it made a world of a difference to her. But seriously, once she put it on, I was like “you know what…. You’re right.” (choke, don’t say that too often to them when they’re young lol) BUT… It really was cute! We paired it with some lighter colored blue skinny jegging and we both loved it even more.
Sequins Art Shirt
Leggings

Last, but not least, are another two tee shirts that we got. Like I said, Hailey loves them. Most of their Cat & Jack graphic tee’s range from like six dollars to eight dollars, so honestly how can I even pass them up? I loved the one because MUSTARD, duh. I told you that color runs my life. haha. It also had the small pocket detail that I just thought was super cute. The second, I loved what the tee shirt said. I thought it was a great message for her to bring to school and pass around. All of their graphic tee’s fit true to size as well. So she got her regular size L (10/12).

Mom Guilt

Mom Guilt

So many bloggers have been talking about this lately and I just think it’s awesome. It is an actual thing that so many people don’t even realize. So I just want to put my two cents in on the subject because it’s something I have

6 Baby Must Haves

6 Baby Must Haves

Let’s face it, as women the second we find out we are pregnant it is in our nature to run to the store and shop. Even if we’re not necessarily buying, it’s just fun for us to look and be prepared. Because let’s be real,

Essential Tops for a Mom on the Go!

Essential Tops for a Mom on the Go!

This one is going to be short and sweet! You’re welcome haha. I have a lot of fellow mom followers, some I know and some I don’t. But they all ask the same question, “What are some easy on the go looks?” If you haven’t noticed by my instagram pictures, my look is always pretty simple. It has been just recently that I have been branching out with different jeans. Most of the time though I always stick to high waist skinny jeans, cause #momhips. With just a casual sweater or top and sometimes another layer. It just makes it easier as a mom to have an outfit that is multifunctional. You can bend down, sit on the floor, run around the yard, and do aerobics in target since you brought both kids. I am going to show you pictures of some of the tops I have been wearing, even slightly over wearing, lately. They are all under fifty dollars and if you stalk the sites enough, you might even find a deal! They all will look good with jeans and some even with leggings. Hope this is helpful! (Side note, I couldn’t find my exact Levi’s button up so I’m showing a very similar one)

Spring Break Surprise!

Spring Break Surprise!

Has anyone else noticed that the older your kids get, the harder it is to surprise them? And if you don’t have kids, guess what? IT’S REALLY FREAKING HARD. Especially when they are eight and literally your best friend. We tell each other everything and

How To Survive 15 Hours in a Car with TWO Kids.

How To Survive 15 Hours in a Car with TWO Kids.

When we decided we were going to Disney World most people asked me, “You’re flying right?” and the expression on their face after my answer was always priceless. One lady even told me I lost my mind. Because we weren’t flying, we were in fact

HAYYYY!

HAYYYY!

Welcome everyone!
For those of you who don’t know, my name is Heather. This has been a long time coming. Thank you for your patience. We all have our excuses as to why we procrastinate, but I finally decided enough was enough! It is time to do something I love and enjoy. Something that doesn’t quite feel like “work.” I throughly enjoy shopping, cooking, being with my family. But most of all I enjoy sharing my life experiences with new people. If I can make some smile, help someone get through a motherhood (or any) struggle, share a recipe, or simply just show you an amazing top; then I am doing what I love.

A little about me… I have two kids, both girls, and have been with Mason for a couple years now. My oldest girl is eight, gulp. Her name is Hailey. The other is just about five months old, double gulp. Her name is Rory. (Yes, we love Gilmore Girls and watch it repeatedly…. But seriously, it’s a problem.)

I didn’t always have the luxury of staying home. I’ve had many jobs, from Medical Assisting to Retail. Retail is what stuck for the longest. I LOVED it. Strange, I know. But connecting with different people everyday, while helping them shop worked for me. So I figure, why not try to do it from home?  Most people think, WOW, That’s awesome, you get to stay home! Which it really is don’t get me wrong, but man is it still work. However, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My girls are my world. I am very lucky.

At first, I didn’t know what to expect. I went from working 40-50 hours a week, to now dedicating every minute at home. During the first couple months I was still pregnant because I got put on bed rest. I thought, oh my gosh this is so boring!!! I mean, Hailey goes to school all day, and Mason works full time. So what was I really supposed to do? There’s only so much cleaning I can do and shopping while I was pregnant wasn’t fun for me. Haha. Then, Rory was born and I was busier then ever. I also began shopping more than ever again. Haha.

I realized finally why people shop online. I used to never understand it while working in brick and motor stores. Yet, as a mom of TWO girls now, it’s just SO MUCH EASIER  and convenient. I’ve have also had more time to make healthier homemade meals. This is big for me. I used to rush around just to get something on the table after work. Now I spend 1-2 hours preparing and cooking something I am proud of. Best of all though, I’ve finally have more time to bond with my daughters. Especially my first. I missed so much time with her by working and I’ve always carried it heavy on my heart. I really don’t think I could have done it with Rory too. Kudos to all you working money making mommas out there! You guys are tough!

Seriously though, I am so happy to be doing this. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has pushed me, helped me, and motivated me along the way. Not only with this journey, but with every journey I have been through. I wouldn’t be who and where I am today without you guys. NOW LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!

If there is anything you want to see out of my blog or Instagram posts specifically, feel free to reach out!

Xoxo,

Heather
