Ultimate Gender Reveal & How to Shop
Ever since Robb and I announced we were expecting EVERYONE has been asking us, “DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR HAVING?!” Which is to be expected I guess. The generation were living in has normalized finding out the sex of your baby and throwing some sort of over the top/ridiculous ‘Gender Reveal’ party. As for us, that’s not really our style. We decided early on to kick it old school and have the ‘ultimate gender reveal’. Meaning we are waiting until birth to find out the sex of our baby. CRAZY RIGHT? I KNOW! But if you break it down and actually think about it, the ultrasound to reveal the gender is at twenty weeks. So you’re already half way through your pregnancy and you might as well WAIT! It makes the process that much more exciting.
The next question everyone has asked and been concerned about is, “How do you shop if you don’t know what you’re having?” Leading me to explain I am already a very neutral wardrobe wearing person, so I would simply shop for the baby like I would shop for myself. I mean who doesn’t love grays, dark blues, yellows, greens and more?! Not only do neutrals look good on everyone, but they are easy to mix and match with!
All of these questions are what sparked this blog though! (Win, win for everyone.) I figured why not share the things that are gender neutral with you guys; incase you’re inspired to keep your gender reveal inside until birth! As you can see, there are plenty of clothes and blankets out there to get you prepared for your baby! Everything else you will want, is basically extra and can wait until you know the gender after birth. However, keep a look out for my next post featuring the extra baby items (swings, high chair, pack n play, etc.) we plan to get that you might need. They will also be unisex!
